Freezing Fog Advisory
Issued: 9:45 PM MST Jan. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Freezing fog advisory in effect until noon MST Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Missoula has issued a freezing
fog advisory... which is in effect until noon MST Saturday.

* Impacts/timing: areas of dense freezing fog have begun to form
this evening and will continue to fill the valleys across west
central Montana through Saturday morning. Motorists should be
prepared to encounter rapid reductions in visibility along with
potentially slick roadways. This may especially be the case on
elevated surfaces, such as bridges or pedestrian walkways.

* Visibility: widespread reductions of less than one quarter mile
are anticipated through Saturday morning.

* Locations impacted include: Evaro hill, Highway 200 Thompson
Falls to plains, Highway 200 Trout Creek to Heron, I-90
Lookout Pass to Haugan, Bitterroot valley, Missoula, Highway
200 Bonner to Greenough, Highway 83 Seeley Lake to Condon, and
I-90 East Missoula to Bearmouth

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A freezing fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use
your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. Also,
be alert for frost on bridge decks causing slippery roads.
