Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 3:50 AM CST Dec. 10, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6 PM this evening to
10 PM CST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for accumulating snow... which is in effect from
6 PM this evening to 10 PM CST Sunday. The Winter Storm Watch is
no longer in effect.

* Timing... expect snow to develop by early this evening and then
diminish Sunday evening.

* Precipitation rates... the heaviest snowfall rates are expected
to occur late this evening into Sunday morning.

* Snow accumulations... 2 to 5 inches of snow is expected to fall
tonight... followed by an additional 2 to 4 inches of snow
Sunday. Storm total snowfall of 4 to 9 inches is expected with
the heaviest totals north of the interstates 88 and 290
corridors. Farther south toward the I-80 corridor amounts are
expected to be on the lower end of the range.

* Visibilities... look for reduced visibilities during the heavier
snowfall... likely below a mile at times.

* Impacts... plan on difficult driving conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
