... Flood Warning now in effect until Saturday morning...

The Flood Warning continues for
the Pecatonica River at Freeport.
* Until Saturday morning.
* At 1:30 PM Saturday the stage was 15.6 feet... and rising.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise to 16.2 feet Sunday morning. Fall below flood stage
Saturday morning.
* Impact... at 16.0 feet... water affects parking lots of businesses
east of the Stephenson street bridge and most streets north and
south of Illinois Highway 75 are closed. Illinois Highway 75 is
also closed.

The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
Jo Daviess County in northwestern Illinois...
Carroll County in northwestern Illinois...
Stephenson County in northwestern Illinois...
Jackson County in east central Iowa...
Buchanan County in northeastern Iowa...
Dubuque County in northeastern Iowa...
Delaware County in northeastern Iowa...

* until midnight CDT Sunday

* at 1149 am CDT, emergency management and law enforcement reported
ongoing flooding from heavy rain overnight, across much of the
warning area. The highest rainfall amounts of 4 to as much as 8
inches, occurred from northern Buchanan through northern Dubuque
counties, as well as northern Jo Daviess and Stephenson counties.
The threat for additional heavy rain and flash flooding is over,
but numerous impacts from the heavy rain overnight will linger
through today, including closed and washed out roads and bridges,
as well as standing water on streets and roads. Conditions will
improve this evening and tonight.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Dubuque, Freeport, Maquoketa, Independence, Manchester, Galena,
Mount Carroll, Asbury, Dyersville, Savanna, Lena, Jesup, Bellevue,
Cascade, Stockton, Epworth, East Dubuque, Farley, Lanark and
Warren.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
