Special Statement
Issued: 2:11 PM CDT Aug. 29, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Slow moving thunderstorms with heavy rain...

A slow moving area of thunderstorms with heavy rain will affect
lower Rock Island County... southern Scott County and portions
of Mercer and Henry counties through 330 PM. The storms will be
most prevalent from near Blue Grass... to Buffalo... Andalusia...
Edgington... Reynolds... Viola and Ophiem. These areas will see 1 to
2 inches of rain with locally higher amounts of near 3 inches
possible. This heavy rain will bring minor flooding to poorly
drained areas and cause rises on area streams. If you encounter
water over a roadway... do not drive into it. In addition to the
heavy rain... visibilities will be greatly reduced in the heavy
rain. The strongest storms may also be capable of producing gusty
winds of 30 to 40 mph and hail up to nickel size.
