The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Marshall County in central Illinois...
Menard County in central Illinois...
Woodford County in central Illinois...
Fulton County in west central Illinois...
southeastern Knox County in west central Illinois...
Tazewell County in central Illinois...
Cass County in west central Illinois...
Schuyler County in west central Illinois...
Mason County in central Illinois...

* until 845 am CDT Sunday

* at 1146 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated the heavy rain that caused
the flash flooding across parts of the area has ended. However,
additional light to moderate rainfall is expected overnight into
Sunday morning. Doppler rainfall estimates in this area range from
2 to locally 4 inches.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Peoria, Pekin, Canton, Beardstown, Eureka, Havana, Rushville,
Lewistown, Mason City, Lacon, Virginia, East Peoria, Morton,
Washington, Bartonville, Chillicothe, Creve Coeur, West Peoria,
Metamora and Germantown Hills.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 155 between mile markers 11 and 31.
Interstate 39 between mile markers 10 and 28, and between mile
markers 38 and 40.
Interstate 474 between mile markers 0 and 14.
Interstate 74 between mile markers 72 and 116.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Illinois River at Havana.
* Until further notice.
* At 845 PM Saturday the stage was 15.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 24.0 feet by
Saturday morning then begin falling.
* Impact... at 22.0 feet, Riverfront Park in Havana is inundated.
At 25.0 feet, water reaches the low steel on the IL 78/97
bridges over Lacy ditch and the spoon river, just north of The Wye
with U.S. 136.

* From Tuesday morning until Tuesday evening.
* At 845 PM Saturday the stage was 4.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 16 feet.
* Forecast... the river is expected to rise to near flood stage
Tuesday morning.
* Impact... at 16.0 feet, widespread agricultural flooding is in
progress.

* From Monday afternoon until further notice.
* At 900 PM Saturday the stage was 450.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 456.6 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Monday afternoon, and rise to
a broad crest around 459.1 feet on Wednesday.
* Impact... at 459.9 feet, flooding begins to impact some residences
in Chandlerville.

* Flood stage is 471 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Monday afternoon, with a broad
crest around 473.0 feet on Wednesday.
* Impact... at 471.0 feet, flooding begins to agricultural areas not
protected by levees.
