southwest of a Rushville to Taylorville line.

Illinois.

for reduced visibilities at times.

Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 12:54 AM CST Feb. 22, 2018 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
Vermilion County in east central Illinois...

* until 100 PM CST Thursday

* at 1250 am CST, emergency management and local law enforcement
officials reported flooding was still a concern across the County
due to the excessive rainfall that occurred over the past couple
of days. 4 to 5 inches of rain has fallen across east central
Illinois over the past 48 hours which has led to the flooding
issues across the County.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Danville, Hoopeston, Georgetown, Westville, Tilton, Catlin,
Oakwood, Rossville, Potomac, Fairmount, Sidell, Rankin, Fithian,
Belgium, Allerton, Muncie, Bismarck, Indianola, Henning and
Jamaica.

This includes Interstate 74 between mile markers 198 and 220.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Continued excessive runoff will cause flooding of small creeks and
streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Vermilion river near Danville.
* Until Friday afternoon.
* At 615 PM Wednesday the stage was 25.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 27.5 feet by
tomorrow morning. The river will fall below flood stage Friday
morning.
* Impact... at 26.0 feet... flooding begins downstream in Eugene and
Cayuga Indiana.
