Special Statement
Issued: 12:27 PM CDT Aug. 28, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Heat indices already up in the 100 to 105 range...

At noon CDT... many locations across the quad state region were
reporting heat indices near 100 degrees. A few locations like
Owensboro were up closer to 105. Readings in the 100 to 105 range
will become commonplace this afternoon. Those with outdoor plans
should take along plenty of non alcoholic beverage to keep
hydrated. Plan to take frequent breaks if engaging in any physical
activities.
