... A Tornado Warning remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for
southeastern Carter and northeastern Ripley counties...

at 748 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near hunter, or 12 miles southeast of Van Buren, moving
east at 35 mph.

Hazard... tornado and two inch hail.

Source... radar indicated rotation.

Impact... flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is
         likely.

Locations impacted include...
Budapest, hunter and Grandin.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take cover now! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
Mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

Flash Flood Watch
Issued: 11:17 AM CDT May. 27, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flash Flood Watch in effect through Sunday morning...

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of southeast Missouri,
including the following areas, Carter and Ripley.

* Through Sunday morning

* a few rounds of thunderstorms, with very heavy rainfall, could
develop as early as midday and extend into Saturday evening. In
addition to severe weather, these storms could produce one to
two inches of rain in less than an hour, with isolated higher
amounts.

* The torrential rainfall will quickly runoff into ditches,
creeks, streams, and larger river systems in Carter and Ripley
counties. Campers and those planning travel on area rivers this
Holiday weekend should keep posted the latest weather and seek
higher ground if flooding is expected shortly or occurring.
Camping right next to flowing bodies of water should be
discouraged later today and tonight. Some roadways may also be
weakened due to flood waters earlier in the month, so caution is
advised. Travel on any roadways covered with water should be
discouraged.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

... .damaging winds of 70 to 100 mph possible with line of storms
moving across eastern and southern Missouri...

A line of storms, capable of producing widespread and destructive
winds, are moving east, southeast between 45 and 50 mph over parts
of eastern and southern Missouri.

These storms will likely cause widespread tree damage, damage to
some homes, and numerous power outages.

Persons who are considering travel on Interstate 55 and 57 in
southeast Missouri, as well as Highway 60, are urged to delay
travel from now until after 7 PM CDT.

These storms will likely move near Van Buren and Piedmont Missouri
around 5 PM CDT... Ava Illinois, Cape Girardeau and Dexter Missouri
around 6 PM... Creal Springs and Vienna Illinois, Onward to New
Madrid Missouri around 7 PM CDT. These arrival times may vary with
the forward speed of the line of thunderstorms.

If you outside, be prepared to look for sturdy shelter. These are
particularly dangerous storms.
