... Flood Watch in effect through Saturday evening...

The National Weather Service in Springfield has expanded the

* Flood Watch to include portions of central Missouri and
southwest Missouri, including the following areas, in central
Missouri, Pulaski. In southwest Missouri, Barry, Christian,
Greene, Laclede, Lawrence, McDonald, Newton, stone, and
Webster.

* Through Saturday evening

* a couple more rounds of moderate to locally heavy rainfall is
expected on saturated ground this afternoon through Saturday
evening. One to three inches of additional rainfall is expected
across south central Missouri through Saturday evening.

* Additional flooding may develop including low water crossings,
low lying spots, area creeks, streams, and rivers.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
