The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Chariton County in north central Missouri...
Randolph County in north central Missouri...
Howard County in central Missouri...
Saline County in central Missouri...

* until 415 am CDT Sunday

* at 413 PM CDT, the public reported heavy rain across much of north-
central Missouri. That heavy rain will cause flooding, and several
social media reports indicate closed roadways due to high standing
water.

Up to three inches of rain has already fallen, and additional
period of heavy rain are expected through the evening and overnight
hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Moberly, Marshall, Boonville, Fayette, Slater, Salisbury,
Huntsville, Sweet Springs, Glasgow, New Franklin, Brunswick,
Higbee, Keytesville, Clark, Cairo, Armstrong, Malta Bend,
Blackburn, Rocheport and Emma.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

the Moniteau creek near Fayette.
* Until Monday afternoon.
* At 3:30 PM Saturday the stage was 14.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by late this afternoon and
continue to rise to near 20.1 feet by early Sunday morning. The
river will fall below flood stage by Sunday afternoon.
* At 16.0 feet... low-lying fields along Moniteau creek flood.

the Missouri River at Glasgow.
* From Monday morning until further notice.
* At 9:30 am Saturday the stage was 15.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by late Monday morning and
continue to rise to near 26.9 feet by early Tuesday morning.
* At 27.0 feet... many agricultural levees are overtopped. Widespread
flooding of rural areas occurs. Secondary roads and homes behind
levees may be inundated.
* At 25.0 feet... farmland along the river floods.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Sunday evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of east central Kansas and Missouri, including the
following areas, in east central Kansas, Linn KS and Miami. In
Missouri, Bates, Carroll, Cass, Chariton, Cooper, Henry,
Howard, Johnson MO, Lafayette, Pettis, Randolph, and Saline.

* Through Sunday evening

* up to 3 inches of rainfall has already occurred in the watch
area, and an additional 1-2 inches is possible this evening and
tonight. While most flooding should occur in low-lying areas and
along rivers and streams, occasional flash flooding is possible
during periods of heavy rainfall, especially in urban areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
