Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 8:12 AM CST Feb. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory now in effect until 1 PM CST this
afternoon...

* snow accumulation... storm total accumulations of 1 to 3 inches
will be possible.

* Timing... light to moderate snow will continue this morning and
taper off during the afternoon hours today.

* Winds... north at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to around 35 mph.

* Visibility... the combination of snow and gusty winds will
result in visibilities dropping down to near one half of a mile
at times.

* Impacts... travel will become dangerous as roads will be snow-
covered and slick. Falling and blowing snow will reduce
visibilities.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
periods of snow and blowing snow will cause primarily travel
difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited
visibilities... and use caution while driving.

Special Statement
Issued: 7:28 AM CST Feb. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Band of heavier snow moving through the area...

Through 10 am this morning, a band of heavier snow will continue
to push south across the area. At 730 am, this band was generally
centered along a ling from York... to Hastings... to Holdrege. In
this heavier snow, winds gusts of 25 to 35 mph will result in
reductions in visibilities, down to near 1 mile or less at times.

Those traveling this morning are urged to use caution and slow
down. Allow for extra time to reach your destination.
