Flood Warning
Issued: 10:04 AM CST Feb. 24, 2018 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Red River at Grand Ecore, Louisiana.
* From Monday morning until further notice... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 900 am Saturday the stage was 29.3 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 33 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Monday morning and continue to
rise to near 39.0 feet by Wednesday evening.
* Impact... at 40.0 feet... major backwater flooding problems will
affect Bayou Pierre, black, and Saline bayous and the Cane River
Lake tributaries with thousands of acres flooded. Severe backwater
flooding will spread upstream along Bayou Pierre through Powhattan
and Evelyn, Louisiana. Also expect backwater flooding of black and
Clear Lakes along with the closure of Louisiana Highway 1226.
Move livestock and equipment to higher ground.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Red River at Coushatta, Louisiana.
* From late Sunday night until further notice... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 900 am Saturday the stage was 28.4 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 31 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Monday morning and continue to
rise to near 34.0 feet by Wednesday morning.
* Impact... at 34.0 feet... moderate flooding occurs. Severe backwater
flooding occurs from the confluence of the Red River with Loggy
Bayou through the Lower Flat river and Red Chute bayou in southern
Bossier Parish. Cattle and equipment should be moved to higher
ground away from levees.
