... Flash Flood Watch now in effect through Saturday evening...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* portions of Arkansas, northwest Louisiana, southeast Oklahoma,
and northeast Texas, including the following areas, in
Arkansas, Columbia, Hempstead, Howard, Lafayette, Little
River, Miller, Nevada, Sevier, and Union. In northwest
Louisiana, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, and Webster. In
southeast Oklahoma, McCurtain. In northeast Texas, Bowie,
Camp, Cass, Franklin, Gregg, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Red
River, Smith, Titus, Upshur, and wood.

* Through late Saturday night.

* Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall with storms repeatedly
moving over the same areas will be possible late tonight and
especially Saturday, especially as these rains fall on already
saturated soils and full creeks and bayous.

* Flash flooding of roads, low lying, and poor drainage areas
will be possible. If you encounter flash flooding while
driving your vehicle, remember to turn around, don't drown.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.

... Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 9 am to 6 PM CST Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a lake Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 9 am to 6 PM CST Saturday.

* Event... southerly winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts to near 30 mph.

* Timing... Saturday morning through Saturday evening.

* Impact... rough chop on area lakes will create hazardous
boating conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
