The Flood Warning continues for
the Black River at Corning.
* From late Tuesday night to Thursday evening... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 8:00 PM Friday the stage was 12.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is expected to rise to near flood stage early
Wednesday morning. This forecast is based off of heavy rainfall
forecasted this weekend. Please monitor latest forecasts for any
updates.
* Impacts at 15.0 feet... most of the area inside the levees is
flooded. Homes and Cabins along the river will be isolated or
flooded. Backwater prevents adequate rainfall runoff in Corning
area.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Saint Francis river near Saint Francis
* until further notice.
* At 8 PM Friday the stage was 22.9 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and is forecast.
* Maximum forecast stage of 25.0 feet Monday may 1.
* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* The river rose above flood stage Thursday April 27 and will
continue rising to near 25.0 feet by Monday may 1 then begin
falling.
* At 25.0 feet... flood water begins flowing over the lower places in
the levee near County Highway 338 north of Saint Francis.

Flash Flood Watch
Issued: 3:25 AM CDT Apr. 29, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flash Flood Watch now in effect from this afternoon through
Sunday afternoon...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* portions of east Arkansas and southeast Missouri, including
the following areas, in east Arkansas, Clay, Craighead,
Crittenden, cross, Greene, Lawrence, Lee, Mississippi,
Phillips, Poinsett, Randolph, and St. Francis. In southeast
Missouri, Dunklin and Pemiscot.

* From this afternoon through middle afternoon Sunday.

* Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected to
produce between 2 to 3 inches across the watch area, with
localized areas of up to 5 inches possible.

* Recent rainfall has saturated soils across the watch area. Any
additional heavy rainfall may result in the potential for
flash flooding and subsequent river flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

CDT this evening...

* winds... south winds sustained of 20 to 30 mph... with gusts to
40 mph.

* Timing... 9 am CDT Saturday morning through 7 PM CDT Saturday
evening.

* Impacts... loose outdoor items will be vulnerable in the wind.
Driving may become hazardous... especially for high profile
vehicles on west to east roadways.

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 25 to 39 mph are
expected... or gusts will range between 40 and 57 mph. Winds this
