Flood Warning

The Flood Warning continues for
the East Fork Trinity River at McKinney.
* At 0630 PM Friday the stage was 15.22 feet.
* Flood stage is 16 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river is expected to rise above flood stage tonight
and crest near 16 feet by Saturday evening due to the additional
rainfall expected in the next 24 hours. The river should fall
below flood stage by Sunday afternoon.

... Flood Watch now in effect through Saturday afternoon...

The Flood Watch is now in effect for

* portions of north central Texas and northeast Texas, including
the following areas, in north central Texas, Collin, Cooke,
Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Fannin, Grayson, Hood, Hunt,
Jack, Johnson, Kaufman, Montague, Palo Pinto, Parker,
Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant, and wise. In northeast Texas,
Delta, Hopkins, Lamar, rains, and Van Zandt.

* Through Saturday afternoon

* additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches later tonight and
on Saturday is expected with showers and thunderstorms
increasing with another upper disturbance. Isolated higher
rainfall amounts are possible with this next round of
thunderstorms through Saturday afternoon.

* Soils remain saturated across a good portion North Texas and
any additional heavier rainfall will rapidly runoff and likely
to lead to flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means that conditions are favorable for heavy rain
which may lead to flooding of low lying areas. You should monitor
the latest forecasts from the National Weather Service and be
prepared to take action should flood warnings be issued for your
area.

... Dense fog advisory remains in effect until 4 am CST Saturday...

* visibility... 1/4 mile or less

* impacts... reduced visibilities will result in hazardous
driving conditions where it may be difficult to see the Road
and/or cars in front of you.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will be reduced to less
than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down... use your low-beam
headlights... and leave plenty of distance between you and the
vehicle ahead of you.
