Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 5:10 PM CDT May. 20, 2018 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Austin San Antonio has issued a

* urban and small stream flood advisory for...
north central Karnes County in south central Texas...
northern Atascosa County in south central Texas...
Wilson County in south central Texas...
southern Bexar County in south central Texas...

* until 900 PM CDT

* at 506 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in
the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen,
with highest amounts noted 5 miles southeast of Poth, just north
of Poteet, and near Lytle and Somerset.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles. The southern portion of the San Antonio
Metro area may continue to see flooding along larger creeks and
drainage systems for several hours. Motorists should use extra
caution in areas prone to flooding, especially later in the evening
as it gets dark.
