Special Statement
Issued: 7:24 PM CST Feb. 17, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Areas of dense fog expected at times near the coast...

Similar to Friday night, areas of fog will develop tonight over
the bays and nearshore waters, then will continue to move inland.
At times, the visibility may fall to 1/2 mile or less near the
coast. Farther west away from the coast, visibilities may fall to
1 mile or less at times but overall visibilities are expected to
be over 1 mile.

If dense fog is forecast or appears to be spreading over more
areas, then a dense fog advisory will be issued later tonight.
However, since the dense fog will be over areas near the coast
and is not expected to spread farther west into most of the
coastal counties the advisory will not be issued at this time, but
will be monitored.

Please use caution when traveling as visibilities can and will
change rapidly. Always use low beam headlights and slow down when
encountering areas of fog, and allow extra time to reach your
destination. The fog will lift a few hours after sunrise.
