mid afternoon.

* Winds... west and northwest sustained 20 to 35 mph with gusts
near 50 mph. Isolated gusts around 55 mph.

* Impacts... driving high profile vehicles may become difficult,
especially over area bridges and elevated roadways. Strong
winds may displace loose objects and could result in minor
property damage.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 mph or greater...
or wind gusts around 40 mph or greater are expected. Winds this
strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile
vehicles. Use extra caution.

The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a Gale
Warning is now in effect until 3 PM CST this afternoon. After 3
PM... a Small Craft Advisory is in effect from 3 PM this afternoon
to 6 PM CST this evening. The this is for the bays and waterways
Baffin Bay to Port O'Connor.

* Winds: west to northwest winds 25 to 30 knots with frequent
gusts to gale force across area bays.

* Seas/Bay conditions: bays to rough to occasionally very rough.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
Harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 20 to 33 knots
and/or seas of 7 feet or greater are expected to produce
hazardous conditions to small craft. Inexperienced mariners...
especially those operating smaller vessels should avoid
navigating in these conditions. Mariners should pay close
attention to the marine forecast... and consider wind and sea
conditions in planning.






Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 2:29 AM CST Jan. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning now in effect from 6 am this morning to 5 PM
CST this afternoon for very strong west-northwest winds and
critically low relative humidity values for all of south Texas...

* timing... strong west to northwest wind and critically low
relative humidity values are expected to increase this morning.
The fire danger is expected to worsen through through Sunday
afternoon as humidities lower further.

* Wind... west and northwest sustained 20 to 35 mph with gusts 4o
to 50 mph. Isolated gusts around 55 mph possible.

* Humidity... minimum relative humidity values 15 to 25 percent
inland areas and 2o t0 35 percent coastal areas.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Residents are urged to exercise care with respect to all outdoor
activities that could inadvertently cause wildfires. Report
wildfires quickly to the nearest Fire Department or law
enforcement office.
