Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Watch
Issued: 3:58 AM CDT Aug. 29, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch in effect from 1 PM CDT this afternoon through
Wednesday morning...

The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a

* Flood Watch for portions of Oklahoma and Texas... including the
following areas... in Oklahoma... Beaver and Texas. In Texas...
Collingsworth... Donley... gray... Hansford... Hemphill...
Hutchinson... Lipscomb... Ochiltree... Roberts and Wheeler.

* From 1 PM CDT this afternoon through Wednesday morning

* periods of scattered to numerous thunderstorms with heavy rain
are expected across most of the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles
Monday afternoon through Wednesday morning. Areas in the watch
have already seen heavy rains over the last two days resulting
in saturated soil conditions. This combined with additional
heavy rain expected through Wednesday morning will lead to
excessive runoff and possible flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be
alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to
flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding
develop.
