... Late season winter storm this weekend along with a risk for
freezing temperatures many areas on The Caprock...

After several months of very mild weather, an unusually strong
late season winter storm will move from the western South Plains
into the eastern Texas Panhandle late Saturday and Sunday. A
chance for wintry precipitation will develop across the northern
South Plains and extreme southern Texas Panhandle Saturday night.

Light snow accumulations, perhaps near an inch, are possible
mainly on grassy areas. But accumulation forecasts may change
depending on the path of the winter storm.

Temperatures by daybreak Sunday morning will fall into the upper
20s to mid 30s for many areas on The Caprock bringing a risk for a
widespread light freeze.

Stay tuned for further information and possible warnings or
advisories today and Saturday.
