The National Weather Service in Lubbock has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
northeastern Lynn County in northwestern Texas...
southeastern Lubbock County in northwestern Texas...

* until 1015 PM CDT

* at 837 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in
the advisory area. One to two inches of rain have already
fallen... with an additional one to two inches possible.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Slaton and Wilson.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... urban areas... highways... streets and
underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most
flood deaths occur in vehicles.

... The Flood Advisory remains in effect until 915 PM CDT for
northwestern Lynn... northwestern Crosby and eastern Lubbock
counties...

At 835 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated that the heavy rainfall was
decreasing across the area. However... radar and gage reports
indicate that about two four inches have already fallen. This will
cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Slaton... Idalou... Lorenzo... Ransom Canyon... Woodrow...
Cone and New Home.

Additional rainfall of .5 inch to one inch is expected over the
area. This additional rain will maintain the minor flooding.
