Watches & Warnings

Flash Flood Watch
Issued: 2:25 PM CDT Jun. 18, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from Tuesday afternoon
through late Tuesday night...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Colorado, Kansas, and southwest Nebraska,
including the following areas, in Colorado, Cheyenne County,
Kit Carson County, and Yuma County. In Kansas, Cheyenne,
Decatur, Gove, Graham, Greeley, Logan, Norton, Rawlins,
Sheridan, Sherman, Thomas, Wallace, and Wichita. In southwest
Nebraska, Dundy, Hitchcock, and Red Willow.

* From Tuesday afternoon through late Tuesday night

* heavy rainfall from periods of thunderstorms from Tuesday
afternoon into the overnight hours could cause flash flooding
over much of the area. Burn scar areas will have a heightened
threat for flash flooding.

* The torrential rainfall will reduce visibilities to near zero
at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that additional rainfall may result in
flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to move quickly to higher
ground should flash flooding occur.
