Issued: 3:13 PM MST Jan. 19, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 8 PM this evening to
6 am MST Sunday above 8500 feet...

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a
Winter Weather Advisory above 8500 feet for |snow... which is in
effect from 8 PM this evening to 6 am MST Sunday. The Winter Storm
Watch is no longer in effect.

* Locations include the city of... Columbine.

* Timing... light snow will spread across higher elevations this
evening and continue through Friday becoming moderate at
times. A downward trend in precipitation will occur during the
day Saturday. The next system quickly arrives by Saturday
evening bringing more snowfall through Sunday morning.

* Snow accumulation... 6 to 12 inches with locally higher amounts
possible.

* Winds... southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Visibility... reduced to under one half of a mile at times.

* Impacts... roadways will be slushy to snow packed by this
evening leading to winter driving conditions through the
weekend. Visibilities will be reduced to under a half mile at
times with moderate to heavy snow rates occurring.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow and/or
blowing snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
