... Winter Storm Watch in effect from Thursday afternoon through
Saturday afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a
Winter Storm Watch... which is in effect from Thursday afternoon
through Saturday afternoon.

* Affected area... the Wasatch and western Uinta Mountains of
northern Utah

* snow accumulations... 18 to 36 inches through Saturday afternoon,
with locally higher amounts possible.

* Timing... snow will develop Thursday afternoon, continue heavy at
times through Friday and into the day Saturday before tapering
off.

* Winds... westerly winds gusting in excess of 60 mph at times
along the ridgelines Thursday afternoon through Saturday.

* Impacts... winter driving conditions can be expected across all
mountain routes beginning Thursday afternoon, and continuing
through Saturday. This includes interstates 80 and 84.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor
the latest forecasts.
