Friday evening for wind and low relative humidity for fire
weather zones 203, 290, 291, 292, 293, 294, 486 and 490...

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Fire
Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in
effect from Friday morning through Friday evening.

* Affected area... in Colorado, fire weather zone 203 lower
Colorado River, fire weather zone 290 Paradox Valley forecast
area, fire weather zone 291 northern San Juan forecast area,
fire weather zone 292 North Fork forecast area, fire weather
zone 293 Gunnison basin forecast area and fire weather zone
294 southwest Colorado upper west forecast area. In Utah, fire
weather zone 486 eastern Uinta Basin and fire weather zone 490
Colorado River Basin.

* Winds... west 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Relative humidity... 8 to 13 percent.

* Impacts... rapid rates of fire growth and spread are possible
under these conditions.

... Red flag warning remains in effect from noon today to midnight
MDT Friday night for wind and low relative humidity for fire
weather zones 482 and 484 below 7000 feet...

* affected area... fire weather zone 482 western Uintah basin
below 7000 feet and fire weather zone 484 tavaputs plateau
below 7000 feet.

* Winds... southwest gusts around 25 mph Thursday, becoming
northwest Thursday evening into Friday.

* Relative humidity... 7 to 11 percent Thursday afternoon, 8 to 14
percent Friday afternoon.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will have the potential to
spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. Isolated
thunderstorms are also possible Thursday afternoon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or are imminent. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
