... The Flood Advisory remains in effect until 1215 am MST for central
Maricopa and west central Pinal counties...

At 1032 PM MST... Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain had fallen due to thunderstorms. This will cause and
persist minor flooding in the advisory area. Primary flooding
concerns lie along State Route 238 from Maricopa to Gila
Bend... which floods quickly when rain is received in the area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Avondale... Goodyear... Gila Bend... Estrella...
Estrella Mountain Park... Estrella Sailport... Bosque...
sonoran National Monument... Rainbow Valley and Mobile.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most
flood deaths occur in vehicles. Heed all roadway signs and do not
drive through water covered roadways.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.

... The Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory remains in effect until
1130 PM MST for central Maricopa and northern Pinal counties...

At 1011 PM MST... Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
continued moderate to localized heavy rain from scattered
thundershowers continuing over the advisory area. This will cause
Urban and Small Stream flooding to continue or persist in the
advisory area. Rainfall amounts across the advisory area range from
three tenths of an inch to just over one inch of storm total
rainfall.

Some locations that will experience localized flooding include...
Phoenix... Mesa... Chandler... Glendale... Scottsdale... Gilbert... Tempe...
Avondale... Goodyear... Buckeye... Apache Junction... El Mirage... Fountain
Hills... Paradise Valley... Tolleson... Youngtown... Laveen... Cashion...
Sugarloaf Mountain and East Mesa.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... urban areas... highways... streets and
underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

the advisory area.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
