... The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for south central Pima County will
expire at 400 PM MST...

the storm which prompted the warning northwest of Arivaca has
weakened below severe limits, and has exited the warned area.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However heavy
rain is still possible in the area, and a Flash Flood Warning
remains in effect until 530 PM MST.

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
southeastern Pinal County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 430 PM MST

* at 351 PM MST, a severe thunderstorm was located near Oracle, or
16 miles northeast of Oro Valley, moving north at 10 mph.

Hazard... 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Source... radar indicated.

Impact... hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Oracle, Campo Bonito and biosphere 2.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
southeastern Pima County in southeastern Arizona...
north central Santa Cruz County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 530 PM MST

* at 329 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms along Arivaca
Road between Arivaca and Arivaca Junction have produced between
1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain over the past hour. This will likely
result in flash flooding of sopori wash to the northeast of
Arivaca. Flash flooding will also be likely in normally dry
washes... roadway dips and other low lying areas along Arivaca
Road.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Arivaca and Amado.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* until 615 PM MST

* at 317 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms have produce between 1 and 2 inches of rain. This
will cause small washes... roadway dips and other low lying areas
to fill with running water. Swift running water in the sopori wash
will likly impact Arivaca Road between Arivaca and avrivaca
Junction.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Green Valley, Sahuarita, Three Points, Arivaca and San Pedro.

7 PM MST this evening northwest of Tucson...

The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a blowing dust
advisory, which is in effect from 3 PM this afternoon to 7 PM MST
this evening.

* Impacts... blowing dust can restrict visibilities below a mile
posing a significant hazard to motorists along Interstate 10
northwest of Tucson and routes 15 and 86 west of Tucson. In
addition... strong and gusty winds will likely suspend dust into
the air that people and animals breathe. Individuals with heart
disease and respiratory sensitivities may want to reduce their
level of exertion to limit the dust they breathe into their
lungs... especially if they are near dust- prone locations.
Those most at risk may feel better of they avoid outside
exercise today... keeping windows and doors closed to help
reduce exposure.

* Timing... areas of blowing dust are likely between 3 and 7 PM
MST.

* Winds... southeast winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph
could produce areas of blowing dust.

* Visibility... could be reduced to less than 1 mile at times.
