Issued: 9:45 AM MST Jan. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from noon Monday to
5 am MST Tuesday above 6000 feet...

* timing... snow will spread from west to east Monday afternoon
and evening... continuing through Tuesday morning.

* General event total snow accumulations... 4 to 8 inches for
areas above 6000 feet elevation. Higher amounts possible along
southwest facing slopes of the Chuska Mountains and the Black
Mesa. See details below or consult point specific forecast at:
weather.Gov/Flagstaff.

* Snowfall forecast from noon MST Monday until 5 am MST
Tuesday...

         Ganado 2 to 4 inches Shonto 3 to 5 inches
    Window Rock 2 to 4 inches

* winds... gusty winds are expected throughout the event... with
the strongest winds Monday afternoon and evening. Sustained
winds over 20 mph with gusts up to 45 will reduce visibilities
to less than one mile and create drifting snow.

* Other impacts... dangerous travel conditions are possible due to
snow packed and slick roads. Visibility could also be severely
reduced due to blowing and drifting snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of falling
snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery
roads and limited visibilities.
