... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM MST this
afternoon...

* location... northeast Highlands, eastern San Miguel, Guadalupe,
Quay, Curry, Roosevelt, De Baca and Chaves counties as well as
eastern Lincoln County.

* Winds... west to northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts between 45
and 55 mph.

* Timing... winds will reach peak speeds from midday to mid
afternoon before diminishing late in the afternoon.

* Visibility... locally reduced in blowing dust.

* Local impacts... drivers of vans, campers, trailers, and other
high profile vehicles should exercise extreme caution,
especially with cross winds.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Motorists should exercise caution while travelling. Sudden gusts
of wind may cause you to lose control of your vehicle. Extra
attention should be given to cross winds.

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a red flag
warning... which is in effect from 11 am this morning to 6 PM MST
this evening.

* Area and timing... the east Central Plains. Critical fire weather
conditions are expected to develop by midday then diminish early
in the evening.

* 20 foot winds... west to northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts to
around 50 mph.

* Relative humidity... ranging from 8 to 13 percent this afternoon.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of this red flag warning.
