MST/ Thursday to 8 PM PDT /8 PM MST/ Saturday...

* temperature... temperatures will warm 6 to 8 degrees above normal
today. However, the hottest days are expected to be Thursday
and Friday with the Las Vegas Valley and Pahrump... potentially
reaching 110 to 115 degrees... 115 to 120 along the Colorado
River valley, and 120 to 125 degrees in Death Valley.
Temperatures on Saturday are forecast to cool only about 1 to 2

* Impacts... heat related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and
heat stroke will be possible. People most vulnerable include
those who are spending lots of time outdoors... those who do
not have air conditioning... Young children... the elderly... and
those with chronic ailments.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions... if you work or spend time outside. When
possible... reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in
vehicles under any circumstances. This is especially true during
warm or hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal
temperatures in a matter of minutes.
