... High surf advisory remains in effect until 3 PM PDT Friday...

* surf... surf of 10 to 13 feet will continue at central coast
beaches through early Friday afternoon. The largest surf will
be on west and northwest beaches.

* Impacts... large waves and strong rip currents will increase
the risk of ocean drowning for swimmers and surfers. Large
breaking waves can cause injury... wash people off beaches and
rocks... and capsize small boats nearshore.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions.

... Wind Advisory in effect from noon today to 9 PM PDT this
evening...

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
Wind Advisory, which is in effect from noon today to 9 PM PDT
this evening.

* Winds and timing... areas of northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts
to 45 mph will develop around noon, then continue through evening
before diminishing. Local gusts to 50 mph are likely. Winds will
be strongest near the coast and in higher terrain.

* Impacts... gusty winds will make driving difficult, especially for
drivers of high profile vehicles. Major roads that will be
affected include highways 1 and 101, and state routes 154 and 246.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

When driving, use extra caution. Be prepared for sudden gusty
cross winds.
