The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued an
excessive heat watch, which is in effect from Friday afternoon
through Sunday evening.

* Temperature... 100 to 108 degrees.

* Impacts... heat-related illnesses (including heat exhaustion and
heat stroke) are possible to humans, pets, and livestock with
long outdoor exposure.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An excessive heat watch means that a prolonged period of hot
temperatures is expected and will create a dangerous situation in
which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay
in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on
relatives and neighbors.

   livestock with long outdoor exposure.
*High fire weather danger with easier fire starts and rapid
   spread.

    *friday - Sunday, hottest Saturday
    *widespread valley temperatures 100-106
*high fire weather danger
    *friday - Sunday, strongest winds Saturday - Sunday
    *north wind gusts 20-30 mph, and relative humidity 10% or
     lower

.Weather summary...
*a rapid warming and drying trend is in store this week with
   high pressure building over the region. Hot temperatures
   Friday into the weekend will increase the potential for heat-
   related illnesses for those exposed to prolonged outdoor heat,
