Issued: 3:42 AM MST Jan. 16, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Dense fog advisory in effect until 11 am MST this morning...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a dense
fog advisory... which is in effect until 11 am MST this morning.

* Location... middle and lower Rio Grande Valley... upper Tularosa
Valley... Chaves County plains and Roosevelt County.

* Timing... dense fog expanding in area through mid morning then
diminishing by late morning.

* Visibility... one quarter mile or less.

* Local impacts... travel will become difficult due to
significantly reduced visibility in dense fog. This includes
Interstate 25 between Socorro and Albuquerque... Highway 54 and
380 near Carrizozo... Highway 285 in Chaves County and Highway 70
between Roswell and Portales.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will be frequently
reduced to less than one half mile. Motorists should drive with
extreme caution.
