PDT/ Monday to midnight MDT /11 PM PDT/ Monday night...

The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a red flag
warning for lightning, which is in effect from noon MDT /11 am
PDT/ Monday to midnight MDT /11 PM PDT/ Monday night. This is an
upgrade from the Fire Weather Watch.


* Thunderstorms... isolated coverage tonight and early Monday, then
increasing to scattered coverage Monday afternoon.

* Outflow winds... gusts to 50 mph.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly.

... Red flag warning in effect from 2 PM to 11 PM PDT Monday for
abundant lightning and gusty outflow winds for fire weather zones
611, 640, and 642...

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a red flag
warning, which is in effect from 2 PM to 11 PM PDT Monday.

* Affected area... in Oregon... fire weather zones 611, the southern
portion of zone 640, and all but the extreme northern portion
of zone 642.

* Timing... Monday afternoon and evening.

* Lightning activity... lal 3.

* Precipitation... generally less than one tenth of an inch.

* Impacts... lightning may cause new fire starts in the warning
area. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly due to
gusty outflow winds. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... .or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
