The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
snowmelt in...
Towner County in northeastern North Dakota...
Cavalier County in northeastern North Dakota...
Pembina County in northeastern North Dakota...

* until noon CDT Monday.

* The warm temperatures of the past few days have led to rapid
snowmelt for counties along the Canadian border in northeast North
Dakota. This snowmelt runoff is finding its way into low spots,
ditches, and the area river system. With the continued warm
temperatures expected into the upcoming weekend, this runoff will
continue.

* The Pembina County emergency manager reports that breakouts of
water are occuring near LeRoy on Highway 12. Other rural roads
have been closed due to ponding of water or water running over
them.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Langdon, Cavalier, Walhalla, Pembina, Neche, St. Thomas and Munich.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The Flood Warning continues for...
* ... Walhalla... on the Pembina river.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:15 PM Wednesday the stage was 11.3 feet.
* Minor flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Forecast... flucuate above flood stage and continue to rise to
near 13.5 feet by early Wednesday morning.
* Impact statement(s) - at 14.5 feet, flooding occurs along the left
bank.
