The coldest airmass of the early winter season will spread into
the Texas South Plains region later today and tonight. Gusty
northeast winds will increase to 20 to 25 mph while temperatures
will plunge into the teens and 20s. Wind chill values will drop
into the single digits overnight, and even below zero at times in
the extreme southwest Texas Panhandle. In addition, patchy snow
flurries and freezing drizzle may accompany this chilly airmass,
with a risk of locally icy roads developing overnight into early
Thursday.

Precautions are advised to protect animals or exposed plumbing as
the coldest airmass of the early winter season moves into the
area. Also, those with sprinkler systems should should consider
disabling them to avoid causing icy sidewalks and roads in front
of their homes or businesses.
