Special Statement
Issued: 8:14 PM EST Dec. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Surge of Arctic air to produce low wind chills...

Arctic air will spill in on gusty northwest winds into Friday
morning. This will send temperatures into the teens to lower 20s
late tonight across the mountains. The wind and temperatures will
combine to bring the wind chill value into the single digits above
zero. Locations in the higher elevations will experience wind
chills by dawn from zero to five below. The wind chills will climb
into the teens by late morning over most areas outside the higher
ridges.

Those who have to venture out early Friday morning, especially
children catching the school bus, need to prepare for these cold
wind chills. Dress in several layers, wear a hat, and gloves.
Also, make sure your pets have adequate warmth.
