Special Statement
Issued: 4:15 PM CST Feb. 20, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Much colder temperatures with a chance of light rain or
freezing rain tonight thru Thursday morning...

A sharp cold front is currently marching south across the Permian
Basin. The cold front passed thru Snyder around 3:30 PM
CST... faster than model forecasts. The cold front should pass thru
Midland late this afternoon accompanied by strong gusty northeast
winds and colder temperatures.

There could be a little light rain tonight... with the recent warm
temperatures the roadways should remain wet... not icy.
Temperatures could hover near or below freezing tomorrow thru
Thursday morning and with light rain there could be icy spots on
area roads... especially on bridges and overpasses.

Drivers should exercise extreme caution late tonight thru
Thursday morning. Do not speed and leave plenty of space with the
vehicle in front of you. Stay tuned to the latest forecast as
conditions can change.
