Watches & Warnings

Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 3:57 AM CST Feb. 28, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning in effect from 11 am this morning to 6 PM CST
this evening for areas generally west of a Haskell... to
Sweetwater... to Ozona line for 20 foot winds of 20 mph or
more... relative humidities of 15 percent or less and a high fire
danger...

The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a red flag
warning, which is in effect from 11 am this morning to 6 PM CST
this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* Wind... southwest winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.

* Humidity... 10 to 15 percent.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... .or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
