The Flood Warning continues for
the Neosho river near Oswego.
* From early this morning until Thursday morning.
* At 12:45 am Sunday the stage was 17.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 24.0 feet by
early Monday afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage
Wednesday early afternoon.
* Impact... at 25.0 feet... the roads around the water pumping plant and
the river gage site become flooded.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Neosho river near Parsons.
* Until Wednesday afternoon.
* At 3:01 am Sunday the stage was 24.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 26.9 feet by
early Monday morning. The river will fall below flood stage early
Wednesday morning.
* Impact... at 23.0 feet... flood waters spread over fields to a
distance of 1 and one fourth miles. Several County roads, mainly
along the left bank are inundated. Several residents which live
along the right bank in the vicinity of Highway 400 may experience
water entering their homes at basement levels.

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Labette County in southeastern Kansas...
Montgomery County in southeastern Kansas...

* until 1245 PM CDT Sunday.

* At 643 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain which will cause flooding. Between two and three inches
of rain has fallen over the last several hours with an additional
2 inches possible overnight.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Parsons, Coffeyville, Independence, Cherryvale, Caney, Oswego,
Chetopa, Altamont, Edna, Dearing, Mound Valley, Elk City, Tyro,
Liberty, Havana, Bolton, Sycamore, Bartlett, Labette and Parsons
Tri City Airport.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The threat for heavy rain and associated flash flooding has ended.
However, flooding is currently ongoing across portions of
southeast Kansas due to recent heavy rain. Please heed any Road
closures, and do not drive through flooded roads.
