Wind Advisory
Issued: 3:11 PM CST Nov. 17, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Wind Advisory in effect from 8 am to 9 PM CST Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 8 am to 9 PM CST Saturday.

* Timing... gusty southerly winds will occur ahead of a cold front
Saturday morning, then even stronger northwest winds will
occur in the afternoon and early evening hours, after the front
passes.

* Winds... peak values of 30 to 35 mph can be expected during the
morning hours. Then gusts will increase to near 45 mph at times
in the afternoon and early evening.

* Impacts... those traveling early for the Holiday week may find
travel difficult on east-west highways Saturday morning and then
north-south highways Saturday afternoon and early evening. In
addition... any gusts in the 40 to 50 mph range could cause tree
limbs to fall, which could lead to a few power outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
