Issued: 8:53 AM PDT May. 25, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Flash Flood Watch in effect from 3 PM MDT /2 PM PDT/ this
afternoon through late tonight...

The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of northeast Oregon and
southeast Oregon, including the following areas, in northeast
Oregon, Baker County. In southeast Oregon, Harney County and
Malheur County.

* From 3 PM MDT /2 PM PDT/ this afternoon through late tonight.

* Thunderstorms with heavy rain... up to 2 inches in some
areas... are expected this afternoon and into the night. These
storms may also bring wind gusts near 60 mph.

* Impacts: areas most prone to flash flooding include small creeks
and streams in steep terrain, wildfire burn scars, and normally
dry washes. Rock slides and debris/water flows over roadways are
possible in these areas. These can be deep and fast enough to
wash vehicles away.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
