Special Statement
Issued: 2:26 PM CST Feb. 21, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Wintry precipitation chances not completely over...

Most of the wintry precipitation has ended across west central
Texas this afternoon, and this will give a chance for the ice to
melt off area roadways and allow roadways to begin to dry.
However, with temperatures below freezing, any moisture that
remains on roadways will refreeze and patchy icy spots will remain
possible this evening.

Patchy freezing drizzle is possible after midnight, with
scattered showers with freezing rain again developing by sunrise
Thursday morning. Although totals are expected to be much lighter
than what we saw earlier today, patchy ice will again be possible,
especially on bridges and overpasses. An approximate time on when
these showers with freezing rain may reach certain areas include:

4 am... I-10 from Ozona to Sonora and Junction
6 am... San Angelo, Brady, and Brownwood
8 am... Abilene, Sweetwater

Temperatures are expected to climb above freezing by mid morning
for most locations, finally ending the threat of wintry
precipitation.
