... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 11 am this morning
to 9 PM MST Thursday...

* impacts... moderate to heavy snowfall will accumulate on
roadways and may reduce visibility, making travel difficult.
Mountain passes may become extremely difficult to travel.

* Timing... snow will increase in intensity late this morning and
continue into Thursday evening.

* Snow accumulations... 5 to 9 inches, up to 14 inches possible
near mountain tops.

* Confidence... high confidence on timing and snowfall amounts.

* Locations... Stanley, Clayton, Hailey, Ketchum, Bellevue,
Galena Summit.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. If you must travel,
keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case
of an emergency.

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has extended the

* Flood Advisory for...
an ice jam in...
eastern Custer County in central Idaho...
Central Butte County in southeastern Idaho...

* until 1030 am MST Friday

* at 945 am MST, local law enforcement reported ice jams causing
minor flooding along the big Lost River and Antelope Creek near
the town of Darlington. Ice jamming is occurring with some minor
flooding of area roads possible.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Darlington and Moore.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Avoid flooded areas. Cold temperatures pose a safety concern if
people are stuck along the river without help. Hypothermia could set
in quickly if persons or pets become submerged in the cold water.

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has extended the

* Flood Advisory for...
an ice jam in...
northern Custer County in central Idaho...

* until 300 PM MST Friday

* at 946 am MST, local law enforcement and blm personnel continue to
advise of an ice jam on the Salmon river causing flooding on the
Challis bridge recreation site. Much of the site is underwater and
the blm is implementing a temporary closure at the Challis bridge
recreation site until water recedes.

* Local law enforcement has closed this area and wishes to remind
residents to avoid any flooded areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Avoid flooded areas. Cold temperatures pose a safety concern if
people are stuck along the river without help. Hypothermia could set
in quickly if persons or pets become submerged in the cold water.

Report any additional rises of water along the Salmon river to local
law enforcement.
