Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 12:38 PM MDT Mar. 30, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 3 am Friday to 3 am MDT
Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for wind and snow, which is in effect from 3 am
Friday to 3 am MDT Saturday.

* Timing... rain will develop tonight with the higher portions
above 5500 to 6000 feet changing over to snow after 3 am. As
colder air filters in Friday morning, more areas down to around
5000 feet will see periods of snow or mixed rain and snow. When
the coldest air arrives Friday evening, all areas that didn't
see snow will also see a period of snow Friday evening. This is
still a very challenging forecast with a change in temperature
of a degree or two making a huge difference. Please stay abreast
of the latest forecast for your area.

* Snowfall... 8 to 12 inches around Fort Washakie... 3 to 7 inches
above 5500 feet elsewhere and generally 2 to 4 inches for
elevations of 5000 feet or less.

* Wind and visibility... north 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph in
open areas will combine with snow at times to limit visibility
to under one half mile.

* Main impact... roads may be slushy at times, especially during
bursts of heavier snow, especially above 5500 feet.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
and slick roads with limited visibilities. Slow down, and allow
extra time to reach your destination. Check the latest Road
conditions at wyoroad.Info or by dialing 5 1 1.
