... Blizzard Warning now in effect until midnight akst tonight...

* what... high winds and blizzard conditions area expected. Travel
will be very dangerous to impossible. Expect damage to power
lines and homes as well. Additional snow accumulations of 4
are expected. Winds will gust from 50 to 90 mph.

* Where... Chukchi Sea coast. The strongest winds will be from
Kivalina to Point Hope. South of Kivalina winds will be 50 mph.

* When... until midnight.

* Additional details... winds gusting as high as 90 mph will
cause whiteout conditions in blowing snow. Significant
drifting of the snow is likely.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds
and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout
conditions, making travel extremely dangerous.

... Coastal flood advisory remains in effect until 6 am akst
Wednesday...

* location... along the coast from the Bering Strait to Point
Hope.

* Coastal flooding... minor flooding of low lying areas is
possible.

* Timing... through 6 am Wednesday. The highest water levels are
expected this afternoon and evening. Water levels will fall
tonight.

* Impacts... high water may push into low lying areas such as the
lagoons at Shishmaref, Deering, Kotzebue and Kivalina. Ice may
push onto the beach along the coasts.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
