... Fire Weather Watch in effect from late Saturday night through
Sunday evening for gusty north to northeast winds and low
relative humidity for the San Fernando Valley...

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
Fire Weather Watch for gusty north to northeast winds and low
relative humidity, which is in effect from late Saturday night
through Sunday evening.

* Winds... north to northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph
through this evening, gradually diminishing overnight into
Friday morning. Strongest winds northern and western portions.
Northeast winds are expected to increase to 15 to 30 mph with
gusts to 45 mph later Saturday night into Sunday.

* Relative humidity... minimum values 4 to 10 percent today. Very
poor overnight recovery tonight. Minimum values 10 to 15 percent
on Sunday.


* Impacts... if fire ignition occurs, there will be the potential
for very rapid spread of wildfire, long range spotting, and
extreme fire behavior that could lead to a threat to life and
property. Use extreme caution with potential fire ignition
sources.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are occurring. A combination of gusty winds and low relative
humidity can contribute to extreme fire behavior. Use extreme
caution when using potential fire ignition sources. This is a
dangerous situation, please follow evacuation orders.

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
red flag warnings.

coast and Los Angeles coast from Malibu to Hollywood Hills...

* winds... northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph through this
evening. Winds diminishing overnight into Friday morning.

* Relative humidity... minimum 4 to 10 percent today across wind
prone areas. Very poor overnight recovery tonight.

* Impacts... if fire ignition occurs, there will be the potential
