Watches & Warnings

Special Weather Statement
Issued: Environment Canada
Special Weather Statement issued by Environment. 01:37 PM EST Monday 22 January 2018.
Significant snow continuing into Tuesday.

A Colorado low will spread snow across portions of Northeastern Ontario. Significant accumulations of 15 to 20 centimetres are likely by the time the snow tapers off Tuesday afternoon. Local blowing snow is possible during the event.

Ice pellets or freezing rain may also mix in with the snow tonight for several hours, particularly for areas from Manitoulin Island towards North Bay. This may reduce snowfall accumulations in these areas somewhat however travel is expected to be hazardous.

###

Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.cpio-tempetes-ospc-storms.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
