... High rip current risk now in effect through Wednesday
morning...

* location... for the North, East and southeast facing beaches of
Puerto Rico,Ponce and vicinity as well as southwest Puerto
Rico. Vieques, Culebra and Saint Croix.

* Timing... through at least Wednesday morning.

* Impacts... strong currents that can carry away even the best of
swimmers.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

There is a high risk of rip currents.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
