Watches & Warnings

Wind Advisory
Issued: 3:29 PM CST Jan. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Wind Advisory in effect from 9 am to 5 PM CST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a
Wind Advisory... which is in effect from 9 am to 5 PM CST Sunday.

* Event... strong northwest winds.

* Timing... from late Sunday morning through the mid afternoon hours.

* Impact... strong winds over more saturated grounds will increase
the chance for downed trees. Light weight lawn items will be
tossed about. East or west traveling traffic will be buffeted by
high winds.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Drivers of vans... campers... trailers... and other high-profile
vehicles should be alert to the danger of these winds...
especially when driving along east to west oriented roads.

Gale Warning, Low Water Advisory
Issued: 10:17 PM CST Jan. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Gale Warning remains in effect from 2 am to 9 PM CST Sunday...
... Low water advisory remains in effect from 6 am to 6 PM CST
Sunday...

* winds... increasing tonight into Sunday... west to northwest 25 to
35 knots with gusts up to 45 knots.

* Waves... smooth becoming very rough.

* Water levels... 1.5 to 2.5 feet below normal.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occuring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
Harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.

A low water advisory means water levels are expected to be
significantly below average. Mariners should use extreme caution
and transit at the slowest safe navigable speed to minimize
impact.
